Hutchinson Claims High Jump, Long Jump at Giegengack

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven women's track and field team competed at the Giegengack Invitational hosted by Yale University on Friday night. Calista Hutchinson (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson Central) led the team with a pair of first place finishes, while Alesha Chu Foo (Bridgeport, Conn./Bunnell), Briana Conyers (Derby, Conn./Hill Regional Career) and Shraya Manick (New Haven, Conn./Wilbur Cross) all posted top five finishes as well.

Hutchinson won the high jump with a New England qualifying height of 1.65 meters. She also won the long jump with a distance of 5.34 meters. Chu Foo placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.60 meters and ninth in the long jump with a distance of 5.03 meters. Conyers added a fifth place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.10 meters. Manick posted a third place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 15.36 meters.

The Chargers will return to action at day two of the Giegengack Invitational on Saturday, February 4.
