WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven baseball team is ranked No. 6 in the East Region Poll, which was announced Monday afternoon. The Chargers are currently 7-2 on the season, with four games remaining in their Florida trip.
New Haven improved to No. 6 this week after being ranked No. 8 a week ago. New Haven won all four games this past week helping them jump up in the East Region Poll. The Chargers are one of six Northeast-10 Conference teams to rank in the top 10. Franklin Pierce remains No. 1 this week with six first place votes and 60 points, while Adelphi is close behind at No. 2 with 54 points. Assumption is ranked No. 3 with 46 points, while Southern Connecticut and UMass Lowell are ranked No. 8 and No. 9, respectively. Bentley nearly missed the top 10 with 3 points.
The Chargers continue play in Florida this week facing Saint Thomas Aquinas College Tuesday and takes on Molloy College Wednesday. UNH will complete its trip to Florida playing Caldwell and Saint Michael’s at the end of the week.
