Chargers Hold No. 8 in Weekly IWLCA Poll

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven women’s lacrosse team dropped a spot to No. 8 in the weekly IWLCA Poll, which was announced Monday afternoon. The Chargers opened their 2010 season Monday night with a thrilling overtime win over Rollins College.
Adelphi and Stonehill join New Haven from the Northeast-10 Conference in the top 10. Adelphi remains No. 1 receiving all 10 first-place votes, while Stonehill moves up a spot to No. 9. Lock Haven finished at No. 2 this week, while C.W. Post dropped to No. 3. Limestone and Mercyhurst remain at No. 4 and No. 5. Dowling jumped up to No. 7, just behind No. 6 West Chester, while Gannon rounds out the top 10.
The Chargers complete its Florida trip taking on Franklin Pierce in its NE-10 season opener on Wednesday, March 17. UNH will then travel to No. 7 Dowling College Sunday afternoon for a non-conference match-up.
