WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven Department of Athletics will be holding Strike Out Cancer Day and a Pink Challenge on Saturday, April 24 in conjunction with four home athletic events. The Athletics Spring Weekend will feature home contests from the Charger football, baseball, softball and women's lacrosse teams.
The UNH football team kicks off the day with a 10 a.m. spring inter-squad scrimmage at Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium. Following the football game, the Charger baseball team hosts Bentley University and the softball team hosts Franklin Pierce University in a pair of Northeast-10 Conference doubleheaders. The women's lacrosse team will wrap up the day with a 1 p.m. senior day contest against Saint Anselm College.
The student groups are encouraged to participate in the Pink Challenge. To participate get a group of eight or more together and come up with the best way to make the whole group as pink as possible! The winning group will be announced during the games, have a picture posted on the athletics website and win a grand prize!

The day will also have a number of exciting activities for all to enjoy on North Campus and at Kayo Field. A home run derby inflatable will be on North Campus, while a 3-in-1 sports challenge will be at Kayo Field. Speed guns at the lacrosse field and at both baseball and softball fields will also be available for spectators to test their pitching and shot speeds.
