WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven men's basketball team will be hosting a coaches clinic featuring Boston Celtics assistant coach Mike Longabardi, a member of the 2007-08 NBA Champions, on Sunday, October 9 at Charger Gymnasium.
Mike Longabardi begins his fifth season as an Assistant Coach with the Boston Celtics. He joined the staff prior to the start of the Celtics 2007-08 championship season. Longabardi was previously with the Houston Rockets for four seasons as an assistant coach/video coordinator for two seasons, the video co-ordinator for a season and the assistant video coordinator for a year. Before joining the Rockets, Longabardi spent seven years as an assistant coach for the men's basketball teams at Pfeiffer University, Adelphi University, Lafayette College and Towson Uni-versity. He was on the coaching staff that led the Lafayette Leopards to a Patriot League title and an NCAA Tournament berth. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Longabardi graduated from Frostburg State University with a degree in health and physical education.
The clinic costs $45 and will also feature a clinic from head men's basketball coach Ted Hotaling on the fundamentals of the two-guard offense.
