STARKVILLE, Miss. – Shannon Angehr (Levittown, N.Y./Division Avenue ) of the University of New Haven softball team was named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II All-East Region Second Team selection on Thursday. This year’s teams are comprised of 204 student-athletes from 89 institutions spread out over the eight NFCA regions, with a first and second team for each region.

Angehr was a key component both in the field and at the plate for the Chargers.  She led the team and finished ranked fifth in the conference with a .401 batting average and has a .618 slugging percentage. Angehr also led the team in several other categories as well with 44 runs scored, 63 hits, 15 doubles, two triples and 97 total bases.  She collected five homeruns this season.  In the field, she tallied 41 putouts with four assists with a .918 fielding percentage.
