SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Senior
Ryan Brockett (Guilford, Conn./Guilford ) of the University of New Haven baseball team was recently named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team, announced Wednesday, May 9, 2012 by the league office.
Brockett leads the team this year with a .345 batting average and ranks 13th in the conference. He also leads the team with 62 total bases, 18 stolen bases and 50 hits. The senior is second on the team with a .428 slugging percentage and third with 21 RBI. During the season, Brockett started all 42 games for the Chargers and compiled 18 runs including eight doubles and two triples. Throughout the season he has anchored the infield defense with 79 putouts and 110 assists with a fielding percentage of .945.
After recently defeating Pace University in the first round of NE-10 play, New Haven advances to the double elimination portion of the 2012 NE-10 Baseball Championship tournament this weekend.
