WEST HAVEN, CONN. – August 10, 2017 – The University of New Haven Department of Athletics announced today the creation of the Charger Sports Network (CSN). Beginning this fall, the network will offer distribution of exclusive University of New Haven Charger Athletics content throughout the state of Connecticut via Frontier Communications cable subscriptions, Facebook Live, YouTube, and on the web.
The network will make premium content about the athletics program available worldwide, including games in real time.
"We're excited to provide this premium content – previously unavailable – to our fans, alumni, supporters and the Charger community," said Duane Bailey, associate vice president, director of athletics and recreation. "Frontier Communications' Vantage Sports Network will be a great partner."
As part of the Charger Sports Network, the Department of Athletics has again partnered with Stretch Internet (www.stretchinternet.com) to broadcast all home games live to a worldwide audience through the official online home of Charger Athletics, NewHavenChargers.com.
Additionally, all games produced for CSN will be available throughout Connecticut on a tape delay in partnership with Vantage Sports Network, a Connecticut-only sports channel available to Frontier Communications cable subscribers.
Along with live game broadcasts, CSN will use Facebook Live and the Chargers' YouTube channel to promote student-athletes and coaches through interviews, highlight packages, and pre-produced feature stories.
The first game to be broadcast will be the men's soccer game on August 31st against the University of Bridgeport.
