On April 13, 2013 the Chargers officially dedicated the brand new dugouts at Frank Vieira Field. With alumni and friends of the program back for the event, the ribbon was cut during a pregame ceremony.
The Home of Charger Baseball, Frank Vieira Field is named after the program’s first coach - and founder. Located at the North Campus Athletic Complex, overlooking the city of New Haven, Vieira Field provides plenty of seating for fans along first base, as well as team dugouts, bullpens, and press box facilities behind home plate. The field is located between Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium and the University’s softball field. The residential neighborhood venue provides a comfortable setting for families to enjoy the highly successful UNH program, and the field is a convenient walking distance to the main campus.
